The production of the highly anticipated prequel to Outlander, titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood, has hit a snag due to harsh weather conditions in Glasgow, Scotland. Filming, which is currently taking place in Glasgow's west end and the Scotstoun area, was scheduled to occur from early January to February 2. However, storms named Jocelyn and Isha brought strong winds and heavy rain to the area, leading to road closures and a pause in filming.

Glasgow's City Council made the decision to cancel filming and reschedule it due to the bad weather.

The production team is now expected to resume shooting in early March, causing a delay in the release date of the spinoff. While Starz has not announced a specific premiere date, it was originally anticipated to be in 2025.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will focus on the story of Jamie Fraser's parents, Brian Fraser and Ellen MacKenzie. Set in a time when love is considered a luxury and marriages are made for political or financial reasons, the series will explore the lengths people will go to find love. Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts promises familiar characters and references that fans of the series will appreciate.
