Halsey joins Nightmare Before Christmas in role with Catherine O'Hara

The 29-year-old pop star — who attended the — will join the cast of in upcoming shows at the .

The singer-songwriter will appear as Sally in the live production for two nights.

After performances on October 27 and 28, she will pass the torch to , 69, who will revive the role after playing Sally in the original 1993 film.

Also cast in the run of performances are , Ken Page, and Danny Elfman.

Tim Burton produced the early 90s feature, and it was directed by Henry Selick.

The movie is based on a poem and story written by Burton, and went on to gross $91.5million at the box office against a $24million budget.

Proving to stand the test of time, the film has been reissued by Walt Disney Pictures various times.

It was re-released annually in Disney Digital 3D from 2006 until 2009, becoming the first stop-motion animated feature to be entirely converted to 3D.

Halsey has had a busy year with her various professional pursuits in addition to being mom to son Ender, who turned two in July.

She appeared in Cleveland, Ohio over the weekend, where she was recognized at Forbes' annual summit. 

The publication honored the New Jersey-bred star for her success in the business and gaming worlds.

The hitmaker, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, keeps occupied with her About-Face makeup line, which was launched in January 2021.

Earlier this year she walked Givenchy’s fall 2023 runway show during Paris Fashion Week. 

Her latest musical collaboration was with Suga of K-pop band BTS, on a song for the new Diablo IV video game.

Last month she confirmed a new romance with Canadian actor Avan Jogia, nearly five months after she split from Alev Aydin, with whom she shares her son.

The media fixture — who also uses the pronoun 'they' — was seen packing on the PDA with the 31-year-old former star of Victorious on a date night in Los Angeles.
