Major League Rugby Week 3 Recap: Jackals Run Riot, Free Jacks Recover Well


There is still plenty of rugby action remaining in the ongoing 2024 Major League Rugby season, but after three weeks, the contenders and pretenders for this season are starting to show themselves. In the Western Conference, the upper tier teams are fiercely competing, while the Eastern Conference is witnessing a battle for the top spot. In Week 3, Old Glory DC played their first match at the Maryland SoccerPlex, riding high after ending the New England Free Jacks’ winning streak. The Chicago Hounds were also looking to bounce back following a loss.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Jackals had a stellar performance in Week 3, defeating Anthem Rugby Carolina with a 68-28 scoreline. Dallas now sits third in the Western Conference, making a mark as one of the most improved teams this season.

New England Free Jacks emerged victorious against NOLA Gold in a closely fought match, showcasing their resilience after a setback in the previous week. Similarly, the San Diego Legion narrowly defeated Rugby FC Los Angeles in a thrilling encounter, continuing their run of close matches this season.
