The producer of the upcoming Ocean's 11 prequel has hinted that the film will do justice to the franchise. Josey McNamara has revealed that Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will star in the film, reuniting the Barbie stars in a new project. McNamara spoke highly of their chemistry and expressed excitement about the prospect of working with them again. Although McNamara remained tight-lipped about the film's plot, they assured fans that the prequel will pay homage to the original Ocean's films. The film, set in 1960s Europe, has been in development since last year, with Carrie Solomon writing the script. Robbie and Tom Ackerly will produce for LuckyChap, along with Roach and Michelle Graham for Everyman Pictures. Executive producers include Gary Ross, Olivia Milch, and LuckyChap's Josey McNamara, as well as Village Roadshow, who may also co-finance the project. The Ocean's franchise began in 2001 with the release of Ocean's Eleven, directed by Steven Soderbergh. The film starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts and earned over $450M worldwide. Several sequels followed, including Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, before the release of Ocean's 8 in 2018, which featured an all-female cast.
