Larry Jordan, the elder brother of Michael Jordan, posed as one of MJ's toughest competitors during their early basketball days. Despite being smaller in size, Larry had the drive and intensity that could rival his iconic brother. Their high school coach, Pop Herring, believed that if Larry had been taller than his 5'7" frame, he could have surpassed MJ in terms of stardom.

As teammates at Laney High School, MJ was the star player while Larry had limited playing time. However, according to Coach Herring, if Larry had been over six feet tall, he would have overshadowed MJ. Despite their intense competition, MJ holds his brother in high regard as a skilled basketball player.
