Universal has released the trailer for its highly-anticipated movie adaptation of the beloved TV series, The Fall Guy. Set to hit theaters on March 1, 2024, the film is directed by David Leitch and written by Drew Pearce. The star-studded cast includes Ryan Gosling, Emily Blunt, Winston Duke, Stephanie Hsu, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Hannah Waddingham. The Fall Guy centers around Colt Seavers, portrayed by Ryan Gosling, a seasoned stunt artist who was once considered the best in the industry.
However, as he ages and sustains more injuries, his career begins to wane. When he is hired to work on the set of Jody's (played by Emily Blunt) film, things take a dangerous turn. The leading actor of the movie, portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, mysteriously disappears, putting the entire production in jeopardy. In true heroic fashion, Colt takes on the responsibility of finding the missing actor, risking his own life to save the film and his own job. The film draws inspiration from the original 1980s series of the same name. David Leitch, known for his work on films like Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde, directs the adaptation. Leitch is producing alongside his partner Kelly McCormick through their production company, 87North.
Guymon Casady, from Entertainment 360, also serves as a producer. Drew Pearce, who previously collaborated with Leitch on Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, wrote the script for The Fall Guy. Pearce also takes on the role of executive producer for the film. Ryan Gosling, David Leitch, Guymon Casady, and Kelly McCormick also join as producers. Geoff Shaevitz, the creator of the original TV series Glen A. Larson, and Cecil O'Connor serve as executive producers.
