‘The Fall Guy’ Trailer: Ryan Gosling Is a Stuntman-Bounty Hunter for ‘Director’ Emily Blunt in Explosive Action Thriller

Ryan Gosling stars in the newly released trailer for the upcoming thriller "The Fall Guy," directed by David Leitch. The film is a modern adaptation of the 1980s TV series of the same name created by Glen A. Larson. Gosling portrays Colt, a stuntman who embarks on a quest to find a missing movie star whom he previously performed double for. Joining Gosling in the cast are Emily Blunt as his ex-girlfriend Jody and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the absent star. The supporting cast includes Stephanie Hsu, Winston Duke, Hannah Waddingham, and Teresa Palmer.

During CinemaCon 2023, audiences were treated to the first glimpse of "The Fall Guy." Producer Kelly McCormick commented in a 2022 interview with Collider that the movie is a tribute to the stunt community and a love letter to the film industry. She expressed excitement about the film, believing it will be a fun and enjoyable experience for viewers. The original "The Fall Guy" TV series aired on ABC from 1981 to 1986, spanning 113 episodes.

Lee Majors played Colt, the character now portrayed by Gosling, and Heather Thomas portrayed Jody, now played by Blunt. The show followed Colt's dual life as a stuntman during the day and a bounty hunter at night, utilizing his automotive stunt skills to apprehend criminals. Majors is set to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming film.

"The Fall Guy," directed by David Leitch, was written by Drew Pearce and produced by Leitch, Gosling, McCormick, and Guymon Casady for Universal Pictures and 87North Productions.
