"Criminal Minds: Evolution" premiered on Paramount+ in November 2022, as a direct extension of the original "Criminal Minds" series. Many from the main cast, barring Matthew Gray Gubler known as Spencer Reid, returned. Kirsten Vangsness, who played Penelope Garcia, mentioned her off-screen bond with co-star Adam Rodriguez or FBI agent Luke Alvez. Fans have been hoping for a romance between Garcia and Alvez, affectionately named 'Garvez', since they went on a date in the original series. However, their date didn't go well and Garcia shocked fans by kissing Tyler Green (Ryan-James Hatanaka).  In light of this, the "Criminal Minds: Evolution" team is aware of this growing love triangle and plans to continue it in Season 2. Showrunner Erica Messer revealed that their relationships will only become more entangled. After learning of Garcia's romantic involvement with Tyler, Alvez's jealousy is also set to complicate matters further. This love triangle will likely continue to color Garcia and Alvez’s relationship in the upcoming season.
