The story is about a Golden Retriever who knew it was going to be sold by its owner. The dog voluntarily sat in a box, showing its understanding and making people feel sorry for it. The owner, however, was amused by the dog's reaction and reassured it that it was not going to be packed and shipped away.  The dog's new owner arrived to take it home, and although the dog was sad to leave, it trusted that its owner's decision was the right one. The owner acknowledged that taking care of a whole litter of puppies could be challenging and believed that finding a loving home for each dog was a happier outcome. However, they strongly disagreed with abandoning dogs on the roadside when unable to care for them.
